Description
The M4 medium tank was developed and manufactured in the United States during World War II. It is a 30-ton medium tank with high mobility and firepower. The M4A4 is a vehicle manufactured at the Detroit Tank Arsenal, and equipped with an A-57 double-row 30-cylinder liquid-cooled gas engine. Many of these vehicles were provided to the British Army, and although the engine had a special structure of 30 cylinders, consisting of five straight-six gasoline engines connected in a fan shape, making it difficult to maintain, it is said to have had fewer breakdowns and a good operational record compared to British tanks of the same era. Approximately 7.500 M4A4s were produced between June 1942 and August 1943, and were used only for training in the U.S. military, but they were also provided to the Canadian Army, Free Polish Army, Free French Army, and Chinese Nationalist Army in addition to the British Army.
This new model kit from Rye Field Model features tracks that are assembled and movable; a metal barrel is included, as are photo-etched parts, clear parts, and decals for six versions
