LED-illuminated models have been gaining popularity in recent years, as can be seen in model magazines and exhibitions. However, the task has traditionally been seen as challenging due to the specialized knowledge and technical skills required, such as soldering and resistance calculations.
The VANCE ACCESSORIES LED Module simplifies this process considerably. The circuitry can be easily completed just by connecting a socket. There's no need to worry about soldering or resistance calculations, allowing you to focus solely on where and how you want to place the LEDs. The VAL-01 1608 Chip LED is a lineup of LED modules using 1608 chip LEDs.
These chip LEDs are incredibly small, providing the advantage of being able to be installed anywhere within a model.
The chip LEDs in this series are high-brightness types, meaning that despite their small size, they exhibit outstanding effects.
Compared to bullet-shaped LEDs, chip LEDs emit light over a wider range. However, the installation methods are slightly more limited than bullet-shaped LEDs. Therefore, it's a good idea to have both types in the same color and choose the one that suits your preference.
This is a lineup of LED modules using bullet-shaped LEDs with a lens outer diameter of 3mm.
You can easily install these LEDs by simply inserting them into holes made with a 3mm pin vise or similar tool. Bullet-shaped LEDs often expose more to the exterior of the artwork than chip LEDs, so we use a colorless, transparent lens in our product to maintain a pleasing appearance even when the LED is not lit.
Unlike chip LEDs, the light emitted by bullet-shaped LEDs has a high degree of directionality. If you also have chip LEDs of the same color on hand, you should be able to achieve the desired ambiance in your work.
These are battery boxes designed for easy-to-obtain button batteries, specifically CR1220 and CR2032.
Both CR1220 and CR2032 batteries provide sufficient power for lighted models, but they have the following characteristics:
CR1220: With a diameter of about 12.5mm, this battery is small but packs enough power. However, its endurance is slightly inferior when compared to larger-sized batteries. If the space to store the battery box inside the model is limited, we recommend using this type.
CR2032: With a diameter of about 20mm, this battery is larger in size compared to the CR1220. This larger size means it provides a more stable current, which becomes noticeable when powering multiple LEDs in parallel. If there is ample space inside the model to store the battery box, or if the LEDs need to be lit for several days at an exhibition, we recommend using this type.
*Please note that CR1220 and CR2032 batteries must be purchased separately.
If the direct connection from the battery box to the LED unit is not long enough, please use the VAL-04A "Extension Cable". This allows you to extend the cable by approximately 200mm. If you wish to connect multiple LEDs from a single power source, please use the VAL-04B "3 Branch Cable".
*Please note that while it is possible to connect multiple three-way junctions and light four or more LEDs from a single power source, this will result in a decrease in both the duration and intensity of the light. Please be aware of this in advance.
