GST/HST Tax Break on Select Items

From December 14, 2024, to February 15, 2025, the Tax Break for All Canadians Act (Bill C-78) provides a temporary GST/HST exemption on certain qualifying items. During this period, no GST or HST will be charged on eligible products.

• Tax exemptions are automatically applied to eligible products at checkout during the tax break period.

Eligibility Criteria

To qualify, board games and children’s toys must meet the following conditions:

• Intended for children under 14 years old.
• Marketed with an age recommendation below 14 (e.g., "ages 8+").

Eligible Tax-Free Items in Our Store

Board Games

• Warhammer (Games Workshop products): All Warhammer items qualify as they are classified as games for ages 12+. However, Citadel paints and tools are not eligible.

Model Kits

Gunpla

• EG, HG, and SD kits: These kits are eligible, as they are marketed for ages 8+.
• RG, MG, and PG kits: These kits are not eligible, as they are intended for ages 15+.

Other Bandai Model Kits

• Eligible:

  • Pokémon model kits, Grand Ship Collection, and Plannosaurus kits.
  • 30MM (30 Minutes Missions).

• Not Eligible:

  • 30MS (30 Minutes Sisters) and 30MF (30 Minutes Fantasy).
  • Figure-Rise Standard and Figure-Rise Amplified kits.
  • Bandai Star Wars.

Other Brands

• Most model kits from other brands, such as RFM, Meng, and Tamiya, are marketed for ages 14+ and do not qualify for the tax exemption.

Books

• Physical Books: Published hardcover and softcover books qualify. Magazines are not eligible.

Important Notes

• Tax exemptions are automatically applied at checkout during the tax break period.
• Preorders: Only preorders that are "paid for in full" and "made available" during the tax break period qualify.
