The Ultimate Nipper is a nipper specialized for gate cutting, designed to pursue the “ultimate cut surface.”
When slicing through a runner around φ3mm, the blade glides in smoothly and finishes the cut almost silently.

Because of its sharpness, it produces a smooth cut surface similar to one trimmed with a design knife, while minimizing plastic whitening, where the cut surface turns white. Compared with standard nippers, the cut mark is much cleaner, making it recommended even for builders who want to finish plastic models without painting.

For builders who do paint, it is also a major time-saving tool. Even when cutting close to the part to remove the gate completely, the cut mark does not gouge into the surface, so gate cleanup with files or knives can be minimized. When cutting small parts, the parts are also less likely to fly off, reducing the hassle of searching for lost pieces.

The required cutting force for φ3mm plastic is approximately 2kg or less. Standard nippers generally require around 3.5kg to 10kg.

The cutting blade, the heart of the Ultimate Nipper, is thin and sharp like a knife.
Each blade is carefully edged and sharpened one by one by craftsmen in Tsubame-Sanjo, Niigata Prefecture, an area famous for blades and cutting tools.

・Single-edge structure for clean cuts
To achieve a clean cut surface, the Ultimate Nipper uses a single-edge structure.
In this structure, one side is the cutting blade, while the other side acts as a “cutting board blade.” Since only one side is sharpened, it is called a single-edge design.

● Cutting Capacity

• Compatible materials: Plastic only, including PS, PP, ABS, and PE resin.
• Cutting capacity: Compatible materials up to φ3mm only.
  However, clear and semi-clear PS resin is harder, so it is limited to φ1mm or less.

⚠ Cautions

• This is a delicate nipper focused on cutting performance. Incorrect use may chip or break the blade.
• It cuts with very little force, so do not squeeze harder than necessary.
• The blade becomes thinner toward the tip and is easier to break there, so cut as close to the middle of the blade as possible.
• Do not twist the blade while cutting or when removing it from the runner after cutting. Twisting adds stress and may break the blade.
• Do not cut anything that does not fit within the blade length. Concentrated force on one point of the blade may cause it to break or bend.
• Do not use it to cut plastic thicker than its cutting capacity or unsupported materials such as metal, resin, paper, etc.
• Do not use it for cutting plastic sheet, tags, parts, dowels, or similar tasks.
• During and after use, remove plastic shavings from the blade with a toothbrush or blade brush. If shavings remain on the blade during cutting, unnecessary stress may be applied and cause damage. In particular, shavings trapped near the base of the blade may cause looseness in the moving parts.
• Do not touch the cutting edge directly. It is a sharp blade and may cause injury.
• Skin oils can cause rust. If you touch the metal parts directly, wipe off fingerprints and apply anti-rust oil.
• Moisture can also cause rust, so apply oil regularly during humid seasons.
• If lubrication in the moving parts decreases, the pivot may wear down, causing looseness and reduced cutting performance. Apply lubricant to the moving parts regularly.
• Wear safety glasses for protection.
• Cut pieces may fly off. Before working, make sure no one is nearby and there are no fragile items around.
• Keep out of reach of small children.
• When not in use, attach the included nipper cap and store safely.
