Description
The Mikoyan MiG-25 Foxbat is a high-speed interceptor fighter developed by the Soviet Air Force in response to the American XB-70 Valkyrie supersonic bomber.
While the XB-70 was demoted to a prototype and research program in 1961, the Soviets continued with their high-speed fighter development plan, leading to the completion of the MiG-25.
It is believed to have made its maiden flight around the beginning of 1964, and the E-266, which set several flight records for speed, altitude, and ascent time from 1965 onwards, is said to be the same model as the MiG-25.
Boasting unparalleled ascent and maneuverability capabilities at high altitudes, its maximum speed of Mach 3 has garnered attention as a peerless fighter jet worldwide.
