Bandai's "MGEX" model-kit lineup is a high-end MG (Master Grade) brand that challenges the ultimate expression of Mobile Suits, based on specific themes set for each unit, by combining the expertise accumulated by Bandai Spirits with diverse materials! The  Mighty Strike Freedom Gundam is the latest entry in this series!

• The theme for this release is "expression of radiance." It utilizes "Mechanical Core Plating" to pursue an even greater level of brilliance. The Mechanical Core Plating on its colored plastic parts is a first in Gunpla history!
• This kit is built upon the frame of the 1/100-scale MGEX Strike Freedom Gundam, which boasts the most extensive frame-linked articulation gimmicks in MG history, while incorporating newly sculpted parts.
• The gold sections feature completely revamped secondary processing and molded colors. A variety of finishes -- including multiple types of gold plating, Extra Finish, and Real Metallic Gloss Injection -- are used to create nuanced golden tones.
• The Disruptor is recreated using interchangeable parts.
• Figures of Kira Yamato and Lacus Clyne are included that can be seated in the cockpit, as is a figure of Lacus that can be seated in the Proud Defender; a standing figure of Lacus is also included that can be placed on the main unit's chest to recreate memorable scenes.
