Description
The Sd.Kfz.250 was the German Army's standard designation for a light armored personnel carrier developed during World War II, based on a 1-ton half-track. Various versions were produced, including the basic armored personnel carrier, radio command vehicle, ammunition transport vehicle, and artillery observation vehicle.
The Sd.Kfz.250/3 was equipped with a large radio for command and communication with the air force.
Erwin Rommel, known as the "Desert Fox," used a vehicle marked with "Greif" and equipped with a frame antenna in the North African campaign.
